English Courses

This English language course is designed for learners aged 40+ who wish to combine studying English with spending time exploring the city of London and British culture. Lessons take place in the morning, with excursions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and one full day excursion on Saturday. Tuition takes place over 26 lessons, 20 of these take place in the classroom and 6 take place in different locations around London. The total number of hours is 21 hours and 40 minutes.

Designed especially for mature learners, the English language +30 Core Course + private lessons focuses on speaking and listening, and expressing yourself on day-to-day topics. The programme is very flexible and consists of core morning classes, which all students have, and then optional afternoon electives so you can choose the course that best suits you, your language needs and your personal preferences. With this 1:1 option, you'll have 10 individual lessons to focus on your own needs.

Designed especially for mature learners, this English language +30 Core Intensive course, focuses on speaking and listening, and expressing yourself on day-to-day topics. The programme is very flexible and consists of core morning classes, which all students have, and then optional afternoon electives so you can choose the course that best suits you, your language needs and your personal preferences. In this case, you'll have afternoon classes of 10 hours per week – Friday afternoon free, as it's an extension from the morning classes.

Small Group English Classes for Students 30+. Lexis Premium Small Group Training is premier class offered exclusively to students over thirty years of age, and is designed to provide a personalised and fast-paced classroom experience. A cost-effective alternative to 1:1 classes, this course incorporates high levels of personalisation and environment encouraging communicative use of language. Premium small-group classes have a maximum of five students, and are taught by our most experienced trainers.

Designed especially for mature learners, this English language +30 Core Course focuses on speaking and listening, and expressing yourself on day-to-day topics. Characteristics of the course: Focus is on all 4 skills, speaking, writing, listening, reading; Practical grammar; Communication is key, with plenty of opportunity for practice; Dynamic and interactive classroom environment; Authentic materials – newspaper, video and audio recordings; focus on pronunciation; constant correction and feedback from your teacher; all books or materials are included in the fees.

If you are aged 30+ with a current English language level of A2 - C2 (pre-intermediate to proficiency) and would like to improve your English in smaller classes, this is the course for you! You will study in groups of maximum 8 students who are of a similar age to you and you will develop networking opportunities. The course includes lunch twice per week with your teacher and fellow classmates, to allow you to continue the conversation outside of the classroom.

This English and Culture programme is specifically focused on those who are young of heart and eager to take on new challenges and experiences. The programme is based on the timetable of our Standard Course (09.30-13.00 Monday to Friday) and will focus on the improvement of the participant's general day-to-day use of the English language whilst touching on areas of English life, its history, culture and food. All areas of the English language, linguistic knowledge, vocabulary and communication will be improved through various grammar exercises. There is a social programme included as part of this course that offers various tours and cultural experiences as well as full day tours on the Saturday mid-course that will combine to make this an unmissable opportunity!

Designed especially for mature learners, this English language +30 Core Course + Business focuses on speaking and listening, and expressing yourself on day-to-day topics. The programme is very flexible and consists of core morning classes, which all students have, and then optional afternoon electives so you can choose the course that best suits you, your language needs and your personal preferences. This option focuses on communication, intercultural exchange and functional skills with participants of different nationalities and commercial backgrounds in the context of professional situations – presentations, meetings, negotiating, leading an international team, intercultural awareness in working environments.

The 50+ Course enables students to practise their English, explore the region, meet new people and make new friends. The course includes language development and an inclusive social programme. Our aim is to help students enjoy learning and using English. We also help them to discover our beautiful region. In the mornings, for 20 lessons (15 hours) per week, you will study English in a multi-national 50+ class at your level. In the afternoons and weekends you will join the dedicated 50+ social programme. You'll need to choose the duration of the course, between 2 and 4 weeks.

There is no upper age limit. The classroom approach is to create an informal atmosphere for purposeful learning, conducted at a pace suitable for those who may not have been in a classroom for many years. Our friendly and approachable teachers will make the classes interesting and enjoyable and will use modern teaching methods and materials to build your confidence in speaking English. Group activities will be arranged to improve your comprehension and communication skills, such as guided and free conversation practice, role play and discussion of aspects of British and international life, customs and culture.
