The Academic Year (Study and Work) programme is suitable for students outside of the EU who are interested in a long term language stay in Ireland. Students from outside of the EU will need to be registered on a specific course called an Academic Year Programme (often called Study and Work Programme). Cork English Academy Academic Year Programmes are in line with Immigration guidelines for international students.This Programme allows international students stay in Ireland for 8 months and must include at minimum of: -  25 week course-  15 hour course per week -  An official English language exam ( TIE, IELTS and FCE exam must be chosen at time of booking). Please consider this information before booking an Academic Year as we will need to know your final exam choice at time of booking and before you start your course. No changes to courses or final exam choice can be made after you start your course. An Academic Year Programme can be renewed for a maximum of 2 times allowing international students stay in Ireland for a total of 3 x 8 month periods (24 months/2 years) subject to Immigration permission. COURSE25 Weeks General English leading to TIE exam. The daily General English lessons covers all of the English language skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing with an emphasis on speaking and listening. The main focus of the General English courses is on communication skills in real life settings.RIGHT TO WORKNon-EEA students who are permitted to reside in the State on a stamp 2 immigration permission are allowed to avail of a work concession.  Under this concession a student may work in Ireland  in a casual part-time capacity without a work permit.Students holding a valid  immigration stamp 2  permission will be permitted work 40 hours per week only during the months of June, July, August and September and from 15 December to 15 January inclusive.  At all other times students holding Immigration permission Stamp 2 will be limited to working 20 hours per week. AWARDS All students who successfully complete the programme receive the Cork English Academy Certificate in English. Non-EU students must also complete an official examination at the end of the programme ( in this case TIE). REQUIREMENTS Students should be from a non-EU country, age 18 + with at least a basic knowledge of English (A1 level). Students are required to have an attendance of at least 85% throughout their course and to sit an official exam during their programme.

ILSC is a fully-integrated English instruction institution with modern facilities spread across two floors. ILSC–Melbourne is equipped with a total of 29 classrooms and 2 computer labs. You may be asked to leave the lab if a teacher wished to use the computers for a class. The inviting break-out spaces provide students with access to free filtered water (hot and cold), microwaves and refrigerators, as well as vending machines with snacks and cold drinks available for a nominal fee. The ILSC café, which is run by students, sells during the breaks barista-made coffees as well as tea, chai and hot chocolate. There are several study tables which are equipped with charging stations for you to power up your cell phones and other devices. The campus also has foozball and ping pong tables, as well as a video game console that are free to use. In order to play video games and ping pong, see reception and pay a deposit in order to get access. A prayer room is also available to students.

All students who graduate from the Academic Pathway Program Certificate are able to achieve the required TOEFL/IELTS score and acquire the academic skills to succeed in University. This includes writing essays, researching and giving oral presentations. Studying a General French course will give you an understanding of the French language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing.

In this program BWS Germanlingua combines a German course with vocational training in Germany. You can choose from various professions, such as baker’s craft, horticulture, nursing care, and many more. German vocational training is a well-respected professional education that consists of theoretical and practical training in the chosen profession. The student will complete the vocational training in a German company plus the German language lessons.

Students will study at CES for 3, 6 or 9 months to raise their IELTS score to the level required to join our partner delivering the Northern Consortium Foundation Programme (NCUK).This will provide guaranteed access to OVER 300 University courses in universities in the UK and Ireland (subject to achieving correct IELTS and foundation results). Students joining our programme with intermediate language knowledge and fluency can usually reach the level required to join a university foundation or undergraduate course within 24 weeks.

UNIVERSITY & COLLEGE PATHWAYSAfter completion of the EAP pathway program students can enter several Canadian universities. Students do not have to write the TOEFL or IELTS exams.Conditional AdmissionStudents who have completed our University Pathway Program will meet the English language proficiency requirements; however, students must apply separately with all supporting academic documents for entry into our partnered universities. Canadian College of English Language staff will assist with this process. Some of our pathway partners accept students at lower levels–please ask one of our experts for details.English Level RequirementTo be accepted into ENGL140, students must pass ENGL125 or score 60% on our ENGL130 exam. Students with an IELTS of 5.5 are also permitted. In order to take ENGL145, students must successfully complete ENGL140.
