The Compact Course offers 20 lessons (15 hours) of general English lessons per week in the UK. Lessons will improve all your key skills at a consistent rate: reading, writing, listening, speaking. You will be assigned to your general English class based on your current Kings Level. We have classes suitable for students at Level 1 (Beginner) right through to Level 8 (Advanced), and you will progress up through the levels as your skills improve and your confidence grows. The Compact Course is available year-round with weekly start dates, and is suitable for students of all English levels.

The Intensive Course is our most popular choice. It combines 20 general English lessons (15 hours) with 8 Special Interest Group (SIG) lessons per week (6 hours).In the general English lessons, students will focus on improving their English language skills across the 4 key skill areas at a consistent rate — reading, writing, listening and speaking.In the Special Interest Group lessons, students can choose from a number of different options based on their own interests and language learning goals. Example options include — Exam Preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge); Business English; Group Discussion; Art and Design; Speech and Pronunciation; Academic Writing Skills; etc.The Intensive Course is available year-round with weekly start dates, and is suitable for students of all English levels.

The Diploma of Intensive English course allows you to immerse yourself in English for up to 48 weeks and you’ll learn, live and think like a native English speaker. You will have a personalised study plan, regular progress tutorials, and regular language level tests. The course combines 20 general English lessons (15 hours) with 8 Special Interest Group (SIG) lessons per week (6 hours). In the general English lessons, students will focus on improving their English language skills across the 4 key skill areas at a consistent rate — reading, writing, listening and speaking.In the Special Interest Group lessons, students can choose from a number of different options based on their own interests and language learning goals. The Super Intensive IELTS course is aimed at students who want to concentrate 100% on IELTS exam preparation. It will prepare you thoroughly for taking the exam in as short a time as possible. All lessons will be taught by specialist teachers with extensive experience of preparing students for the IELTS exam.Course format = 32 lessons per week (24 hours) focusing on IELTS exam preparation, skills, and practice sessionsAll students have the option of taking the IELTS exam at the Kings Oxford IELTS test centre on the Saturday after the course is finished. The exam fee is not included in the price and will need to be booked separately. Note: the Super Intensive IELTS course is intended for the Academic Module only. This course is for students who need to improve the key language skills needed to score as high as possible in all parts of the Cambridge English: B2 First (FCE) exam.Course format:- 20 lessons (15 hours) per week of General English- 8 lessons (6 hours) per week Cambridge FCE exam preparationFeatures:- The Cambridge English: First preparation course is taught by specialist and experienced teachers.- The course syllabus has been specially designed to maximise students’ exam success and covers all papers of the exam.- Students will be given regular homework and will be expected to complete at least five hours of assignments each week.In the Cambridge FCE lessons, you will focus on exam technique and strategies, such as:- Working under exam conditions- Understanding the requirements of each section of the exam- Understanding what the examiner is looking for- Planning and reviewing your answers- Preparing mentally for exam dayAssessing progress:- Students will be given homework tasks to complete every day, including writing practice.- In addition to homework tasks, students’ progress will also be monitored in class and they will complete a short test at the start of each week.- Students are given a number of opportunities to complete mock examinations under simulated exam conditions. The results of these mock exams will be used to help them improve in specific areas.About the Cambridge: B2 First (FCE) exam:- The Cambridge English: First exam is an upper-intermediate level qualification, set at level B2 of the CEFR.- It offers proof that candidates have the language skills to live and work independently in an English-speaking country or to study on courses taught in English.- Candidates are tested in all four key skills and in ‘use of English’, and receive a separate score for each, as well as an overall score. A final grade and CEFR level are then assigned.
