This course follows the Standard course structure with an additional 4 lessons of communicative skills practice per week. These extra lessons are designed to give you the chance to develop your confidence in speaking and listening.

The Study Year Programme offers a comprehensive and flexible English language programme to help you prepare for your future and gain internationally recognised exam qualifications. It is designed specifically for long-term students who will study English in England for 6 months or more. This programme allows you to follow a wide range of ELC Eastbourne courses, including General English, Cambridge English exams (FCE & CAE), IELTS and Introduction to Business English.

At our English schools in the UK you can take an English course of 4-24 weeks, followed by a Volunteer Internship of 4-24 weeks. The Volunteer Internship Programme in the UK is suitable for students/young people who are either in education, have completed their education, or are working and wish to take a break to improve their English in a professional environment and gain practical knowledge in a variety of business sectors related to their field of study or future career. You must have an Upper-Intermediate level of English (B2) at the start of the placement.

By following a General English language Course, students will increase their accuracy in grammar and will increase their competence and confidence in the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. The General Course has 15 hours of teaching timetabled per week. The General and Intensive Course PLUS suits students with limited time to improve their English for work and study, with added one-to-one's. This course is perfect for business people and mature students. The General and Intensive Course PLUS content is the standard General and Intensive English courses Monday to Friday. In addition, you will receive six hours of one-to-one tuition tailored to your specific language needs.

The Standard General English Course takes place all year round. Lessons are held every morning, from Monday to Friday (09.30 – 13.00 in the UK). Students will work on improving the skills involved with speaking, listening, reading and writing, so that they can improve their comprehension and communicate more freely. They will work on their linguistic knowledge, increasing their vocabulary and deepening their understanding of the grammar and structure of the language. Courses at CES are communicative and task-based, using the most up to date technology and authentic materials. Students are then free in the afternoons to join our exciting social programme, use the self-access facilities, or to explore the rich history and culture of Ireland and the UK.

The Compact Course offers 20 lessons (15 hours) of general English lessons per week in the UK. Lessons will improve all your key skills at a consistent rate: reading, writing, listening, speaking. You will be assigned to your general English class based on your current Kings Level. We have classes suitable for students at Level 1 (Beginner) right through to Level 8 (Advanced), and you will progress up through the levels as your skills improve and your confidence grows. The Compact Course is available year-round with weekly start dates, and is suitable for students of all English levels.

With this combined programme, you can improve your English and gain valuable international work experience as a volunteer. This English language course helps boost your language skills and your professional skills by combining English lessons and an internship into your programme.
