English Courses in United Kingdom

The Combination Course takes place all year round, from Monday to Friday. Morning lessons follow the same programme as the Standard Course. There are two afternoons a week of one-to-one lessons, designed to meet the individual requirements of each student. Prior to the first one-to-one session, students complete a Needs Analysis which helps the teacher to plan the one-to-one lessons according to the student’s specific needs. Teachers then work closely with the student to ensure these needs are being met. All students receive a final report detailing their progress and outlining future areas for attention. The minimum age is 16 and there is a maximum of 14 students per class. A combination course is 26.6lessons (20 hours) per week. 15 hours General English in the mornings and 5 hours one-to-one lessons in the afternoons in the UK.

Our Semi-Intensive English course is a semi-intensive programme that allows you to balance classroom tuition with structured study and free time activities. You will improve your English language ability at a speed you feel comfortable with, while having time to enjoy your destination. This course is available at all levels from Elementary to Advanced and you will be placed in a class which is suitable for your level. The course focuses on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. You’ll also learn vocabulary and grammar, and how to speak in formal and informal discussions and strategies.

St Giles Eastbourne offers International Semester Language Courses to students wishing to experience British life and study General English for 6 months or longer. Additional modules also available at St Giles Eastbourne are: Cambridge English or IELTS exam preparation, English for Business, and English for University Studies.

Our General English Programme offers a choice of courses for everyone who needs an improved level of English for academic, social or professional reasons. This specific General English course has 20 lessons per week. Minimum stay of 20 weeks.

Our Intensive Academic Year courses are 9 month English courses that will improve your English fluency to the highest level, with more lessons than our general English Academic Year course. As well as learning important general English, you can choose to study specific sections of vocabulary and skills, such as Business Intensive and exam preparation. Immerse yourself in the English language, and spend a year studying and getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by our exclusive and specially designed study materials.

This course gives you the opportunity of living and learning more about the culture and social life of both England and Ireland.Our special long term rates are only available to CES agents. Bookings must be a minimum of 24 weeks to avail of these rates. Students have the opportunity to really further their English language, by learning over a greater length of time. If long term students have the appropriate level, they are welcome to move to our IELTS/Cambridge Examination Preparation Courses or General English with Business English! You can divide your stay as you wish and you can start your course in either England or Ireland - we leave the choice to you. We do recommend that all students who require a visa start their Multi-Destination course in the UK.
