General English Language Afternoon Courses at Lexis English offer students the flexibility of combining their English language education with a large range of options classes – personalising each student’s course to suit their academic needs. For students wanting to brush up their English skills for travelling, employment or to work towards a placement in one of our academic programs or Certificate or Diploma courses, our General English course is designed to get results. We understand that every english student comes to Australia with unique goals, plans and learning needs. Lexis 360° is our student care program designed to ensure that all Lexis students receive individual support and attention, initiating the most successful study experience possible. General English Full-Time is CRICOS registered and consists of a minimum of 20 hours per week with an additional 5 hours per week of Guided Individual Learning (GIL).

This Intensive English course adds an additional 7.5 hours of English to the core General English course. The additional 10 afternoon lessons each week will give students the opportunity to put into practice the new language learnt in the mornings. Students will develop their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. They will also work on extending their vocabulary. During these lessons the main focus will be to help students speak more fluently and interact more effectively in a variety of real life situations.

Studying a General English Language Course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing. During the lessons you rapidly improve your communication skills in a variety of everyday situations. In 2 lessons each day you will cover the following areas: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation. In a further 2 lessons you concentrate on: speaking, listening, reading, writing. You use a text book in conjunction with a wide variety of materials and exercises including roleplays, authentic materials, newspapers and magazines.

They are designed for busy professionals, executives, and mature learners who hope to improve quickly. Platinum clients have full use of the exclusive Platinum Centres and lounges at all three city-center locations. We aim to offer an environment that is calm, relaxed and welcoming with a range of complementary business facilities and services.

This semi-intensive General English language course is made up of 25 lessons per week/18.7 hours per week that combine language learning with a special focus on developing critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. This is best for students who want a combination of morning and mid-day classes.

In the course, we discuss different texts and work a lot with word knowledge. In grammar, we work with, among other things, word order, conjunctions, subjunctions, and assertiveness. You can write different types of texts.

This course is suitable for students who wish to improve their fluency, vocabulary and pronunciation in a language. There is an emphasis on language for everyday situations and classes may involve discussing topics such as film and theatre, current events, politics, local culture and the internet. 10 lessons per week; 1 lesson: 50 minutes; 15 Students maximum per class; Course length: 1-11 weeks; Hours per week: 8 hours 20 minutes; Ages 16+.
