The exam preparation courses are design to help you achieve the result needed in your chosen language exam. These official language exams are used as a proof of language proficiency for immigration purposes, university admissions, or for employment. In this course you will learn and develop test-taking strategies and skills.

General English Language Afternoon Courses at Lexis English offer students the flexibility of combining their English language education with a large range of options classes – personalising each student’s course to suit their academic needs. For students wanting to brush up their English skills for travelling, employment or to work towards a placement in one of our academic programs or Certificate or Diploma courses, our General English course is designed to get results. We understand that every english student comes to Australia with unique goals, plans and learning needs. Lexis 360° is our student care program designed to ensure that all Lexis students receive individual support and attention, initiating the most successful study experience possible. General English Full-Time is CRICOS registered and consists of a minimum of 20 hours per week with an additional 5 hours per week of Guided Individual Learning (GIL).

This Intensive English course adds an additional 7.5 hours of English to the core General English course. The additional 10 afternoon lessons each week will give students the opportunity to put into practice the new language learnt in the mornings. Students will develop their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. They will also work on extending their vocabulary. During these lessons the main focus will be to help students speak more fluently and interact more effectively in a variety of real life situations.

Studying a General English Language Course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing. Structured like a real university year, our English Language Academic Year course in Kaplan Vancouver is a nine-month English course that aims to take you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. You'll build invaluable skills for your future and make lasting memories as you explore the new city and culture around you. Our Intensive Academic Year course allows you to maximize your classroom time, with extra lessons focusing on specific skills such as business English, academic English, literature or TOEFL/IELTS preparation. This course has 26 hours of lessons per week.

During the lessons you rapidly improve your communication skills in a variety of everyday situations. In 2 lessons each day you will cover the following areas: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation. In a further 2 lessons you concentrate on: speaking, listening, reading, writing. You use a text book in conjunction with a wide variety of materials and exercises including roleplays, authentic materials, newspapers and magazines.
