Evening classes are ideal for students who want to maintain their English without committing to a full-time course. We provide a welcoming environment to make learning in the evening a pleasure. Regular organised get-togethers with LILA’s international and English speaking students enable you to activate your newly acquired language skills.

Plus Six is a 6 hour per week, part time course which focuses on the use of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in a communicative way. The syllabus is created by the teachers and offers dynamic and interactive lessons each week.

General English is a full time, 15 hour per week course which aims to give you confidence in communicating in an English speaking environment. The course is taught in weekly modules focusing on the skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing whilst covering essential grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and common English phrases. General English is designed for students who wish to improve their ability to communicate in English while experiencing the vibrancy and excitement of Liverpool.Note: Timetable depends on your level of English and the availability. You will either have classes in the morning or afternoon.

General English Plus is a 21 hour per week, intensive course which combines General English and Plus Six. General English covers all 4 communicative skills and essential grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and phrases. Plus 6 offers students the chance to further practise their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in a more communicative way.Note: Timetable depends on your level of English and the availability. You will either have classes in the morning or afternoon.

Cambridge English offer a wide range of exams which can help you achieve your goals and increase your opportunities for work, study, and life.Our Cambridge Exam Preparation courses are full time at 15 hours per week. You will be guided through a variety of strategies to help you realise your potential in your chosen Cambridge exam. You will focus on all parts of the exam - reading, writing, listening, speaking, and use of English – as well as exam techniques and academic style. LILA*'s Cambridge Exam Preparation courses are intended to develop the necessary language skills required to pass the exam. As well as the core course material you may also have the opportunity for authentic exam practise with previous Cambridge exam papers.Note: Timetable depends on your level of English and the availability. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is recognised worldwide and evaluates the English language proficiency of people who want to study or work in English speaking countries or environments such as university or in the workplace. Our IELTS Exam Preparation course is part time at 6 hours per week. You will encounter a wide range of strategies to give you the best possible opportunity to achieve your desired grade. You will focus on academic reading and writing, whilst also honing your speaking and listening skills. The class covers all modules of the IELTS exam and students will also get the chance to see past exam papers.

Cambridge CELTA is an internationally recognised, externally accredited EFL qualification and your first reliable step to teaching anywhere in the world. This course provides fluent speakers of English with high quality training in teaching English as a foreign language and is taken by over 10,000 candidates each year. CELTA is suitable for people who are interested in teaching English abroad or in the UK with little or no teaching experience as well as teachers who are already in the profession but who have no formal or practical teaching qualification. The course includes tutorial support, supervised lesson planning, peer observation, feedback sessions, submission of a portfolio of work and much more.

Our English Teaching Methodology course is designed for non-native teachers of English who want to improve or refresh their skills. The course covers a broad range of EFL topics and the most recent developments in English language teaching. Topics typically include: Methods and Approaches Motivation Functions and Meaning Materials Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening Teaching Roles Grammar Lexis Checking Understanding Phonology Computers in EFL Teaching Beginners Learner Strategies Personal Development. English Teaching Methodology is available to Groups only. A teaching qualification is required to enrol on this course.
