The Cambridge Examination Preparation Courses are designed to prepare students for one of the following Cambridge Examinations:First Certificate in English (FCE)Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)The Cambridge Examinations usually take place four times a year in March, June, August and December. Our courses are scheduled to finish the week before the exam date. Students are advised to arrive one week before the course start date to allow time for assessment. We cannot accept a student for any examination course until CES have confirmed the student is at the appropriate level for their chosen examination. Every student is then appointed a tutor to monitor and continually assess their progress with CES.*The First Certificate course is guaranteed to run in CES Dublin. The minimum age is 16 and there is a maximum of 14 students per class. 1 lesson in the UK = 45 minutes1 lesson in Ireland = 55 minutes

CES is delighted to announce for 2018 new university pathway pre-sessional English language programme in cooperation with NCUK. Students will study at CES for 3, 6 or 9 months to raise their IELTS score to the level required to join our partner delivering the Northern Consortium Foundation Programme (NCUK).This will provide guaranteed access to OVER 300 University courses in universities in the UK and Ireland (subject to achieving correct IELTS and foundation results). The programme will provide expert preparation for the IELTS exam as well as giving students the academic study skills required to succeed in the further and higher education environment.

This teacher training course in Dublin focuses on the fundamental aspects of blended learning and how it is utilised in the modern classroom. In conjunction with this focus, this course has a key element of language development in order to aid the course participants’ ability to deliver effective language lessons. We will look at the role of the teacher in a blended classroom and some of the key tools which can be utilised in the blended context.

Full-time CELTA course (4 weeks) Monday to Friday 9am - 5pmThis is a fully-accredited 4-week intensive online course which prepares candidates to teach in botha regular classroom as well as in an online one. The course takes places fromMonday to Friday (9am to 5pm (GMT).Two sessions are delivered every morning by our tutors in an interactive and practical manner through the Zoom platform. These sessions are designed to help candidates acquire and put into practice the knowledge and techniques which are needed when teaching in a regular classroom environment as well as in an online classroom.Every morning also has preparation time when our tutors give guidance on how to prepare and plan for Teaching Practice. Like a regular face-to-face CELTA, candidates must complete 6 hours of Teaching Practice with lessons lasting from 40 to 60 minutes. This is done every afternoon of the course when candidates teach students from around the world through the Zoom platform. These lessons last from 2pm to 4pm when candidates either teach or observe their peers. Class feedback is done afterwards.Similar to the part-time course, there are 4 assignments and 6 hours of observation which need to be completed. No previous experience is needed in using the Zoom platform as training will be given prior to the commencement of the course. Attendance is 100% necessary for all morning input sessions and afternoon Teaching Practices.

This course is intended for non-native teachers of other subjects who wish to develop their own English language skills. It is specifically aimed at teachers of other subjects, who have to teach their subjects through English.

Our CLIL course is intended for non-native teachers of other subjects who wish to develop their own English language skills and examine the methodology of CLIL - Content and Language Integrated Learning. This course provides opportunities for teachers to discuss and share ideas with colleagues from Europe and beyond.

Our Methodology and Language Development course is intended for non-native English teachers who wish to refresh their own language skills and examine different teaching methods and approaches. This course provides opportunities for teachers to discuss and share ideas with colleagues from Europe and beyond.

Students follow the Standard Course in the mornings and have Business English lessons three afternoons per week.The Business English lessons are designed for students who wish to improve their communicative proficiency in a business environment. The lessons can be tailored to suit the needs of any particular group of students and focus primarily on the specialised language of Business English.Please note that this course only runs if we have a minimum of 8 students booked.The minimum age is 16 and there is a maximum of 14 students per class. 1 lesson in the UK = 45 minutes1 lesson in Ireland = 55 minutes

The Intensive General English Course is suitable for students who want to maximize on work carried out in the Standard Course. All morning courses are based on our CES Curriculum Framework Document which has common CEF learning objectives for each level. In addition, each course is supported by a published EFL course book and its syllabus. Teachers complement this syllabus. Students will work on improving the English language skills involved with speaking, listening, reading, and writing so that they can improve their comprehension and communicate more freely. This course also has extra lessons on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays as a way to improve faster your learning curve.

The Combination Course takes place all year round, from Monday to Friday (09.30-13.00 in the UK and 09.00-13.00 in Ireland). Morning lessons follow the same programme as the Standard Course. All morning courses are based on our CES Curriculum Framework Document which has common CEF learning objectives for each level. In addition, each course is supported by a published EFL course book and its syllabus. Teachers complement this syllabus. A combination course is 20 hours in the morning and 5 hours of one to one lessons.
