Our General English Language courses aim to improve every aspect of your English so that you can communicate effectively with speakers from across the globe. Our approach is to provide a stimulating and highly interactive environment in which you can develop your language skills. Lesson content concentrates on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, as well as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Every week you will work on developing and improving all language skill areas, with a focus on active communication in real life situations. You will also be given regular homework and weekly tests to check your progress. The 3 daily classes of 60 minutes will take place in the time slots detailed below. The exact schedule is assigned on the first day of class, according to your level. This course is available in the mornings from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm

Spend up to a year abroad, achieve a high level of fluency in your chosen language and make new friends from all over the world. ATA and AYA programmes differ from shorter courses at LSI because students receive a greater level of academic support and management, including two additional weekly sessions with a teacher. An individual study plan is designed for you to suit your level, individual aims and the duration of your course. We continue to check your progress with regular meetings to make sure you achieve your aims.* Students can also start on any Monday.

Studying a General English Language Course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing. General English Part-Time is CRICOS registered and consists of a minimum of 15 hours per week. Our five month English Academic Semester course aims to get you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. As well as this general English course, you can choose an Intensive Academic Semester course, in which you will study specific sections of vocabulary and skills, such as Business Intensive and exam preparation.Immerse yourself in the English language and spend a semester studying, getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by our exclusive and specially produced study materials.

In the course, you will learn to greet, introduce yourself, talk about yourself (family, leisure, studies, work, etc.) and make purchases. We practice very natural pronunciation. You can read simple dialogues and shorter texts and practice understanding spoken Swedish. The Intensive General English Course is suitable for students who want to maximise. There are also three afternoon lessons a week Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (14.00 -16.30) which are focused on improving the students’ speaking skills and ability to communicate through English. In the afternoon lessons, students have the opportunity to improve their communicative proficiency through discussions, topical debates, authentic materials and use of portable and static technology. Course content is partly negotiated and partly based on TED lectures.

Swedish B1 part 1 is for you who already master simple sentences and can write them, and understand expressions linked to a personal context. You take the step from being a beginner in Swedish to understanding most things in a conversation through a broader vocabulary and in-depth grammar.

Our General English courses are ideal if you use English for everyday purposes. On our Standard GE course you will study 20 lessons a week from 9am to 1pm. The course will teach you English vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation together with the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.
