For students who have a natural curiosity about the world and an interest in modern technology and applications. Explore ideas, experiment with materials, and build your own devices while on field trips and on campus. You will also meet local artisans, engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs, whilst exploring the city of Boston.COURSE OVERVIEWThis course will combine lessons, lectures and workshops to engage and inspire students whoare interested in coding and modern technology. Lectures introduce theory while lessons allowstudents to look at web design, basic Java skills and 2D arrays. During workshops students willexplore design software, real-world programming and coding practice culminating in creating theirown video game. Visits to local universities including the world-renowned MIT and Harvard will alsobe included enabling students to get a taste of where their further studies could take them.ACCOMMODATIONStudents are housed in brand new, modern, air-conditioned dormitory buildings Single en-suite bedrooms on campus. Common rooms, laundry facilities and Wi-Fi internet access are available.EXCURSIONSOne full day excursion per week is included. Destinations may include Boston, New York and SixFlags Theme Park.
