Course start date and duration
This course aims to teach simple, effective meditation and yoga techniques. Participants can use these techniques to support their own well-being and that of their students. Each day’s topic will be covered through a combination of exercises and practical activities. Participants will learn to meditate for a short time without guidance. Participants will have the option to either prepare and lead a short meditation suitable for their learners or learn yoga poses and effective breathing techniques to calm the mind. This programme offers participants the opportunity to take part in tutorials and group meditations as well as participating in lesson planning sessions and group discussions. This course is ideal for Primary and Secondary Teachers seeking to learn techniques to calm the mind and body in a classroom setting. These techniques can reduce the negative effects of stress and increase students' ability to stay engaged, helping them stay on track academically and avoid behavioural problems. By the end of the course, participants will have learned simple practical meditation and yoga techniques to use in a language classroom. They will have developed simple meditation techniques to support the well-being of their students and themselves. They will become confident in using short simple meditation and yoga sequences with their students and they will understand how these techniques can help their students to be more present with our students. In turn, creating a happy class atmosphere with better learning outcomes.
