English Courses

Our Semi-Intensive English course is a semi-intensive programme that allows you to balance classroom tuition with structured study and free time activities. You will improve your English language ability at a speed you feel comfortable with, while having time to enjoy your destination. This course is available at all levels from Elementary to Advanced and you will be placed in a class which is suitable for your level. The course focuses on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. You’ll also learn vocabulary and grammar, and how to speak in formal and informal discussions and strategies.

The General English Courses are designed for learners of all levels and have an emphasis on speaking, communication and a high level of learner participation. The goal is to improve your accuracy and fluency as you move up the levels from beginner to advanced plus. These courses will give you the skills you need to communicate effectively in English, and will provide a strong foundation of grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and spoken English.

A Standard English course helps you develop all the skills that you need to learn and understand English for everyday use, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking.The key aim of the class is to improve your ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

This General English Language Course is suitable for students who may want to enhance their English language skills before attempting further study in Australia, or for students who want to develop their English to achieve their personal goals. General English develops and builds English language skills such as: - reading, writing and listening skills - structure, grammar, vocabulary, and idioms - speaking, pronunciation and fluency skills communication and conversation strategies.

This study course is an ideal option for young adult students seeking to enter the working world. The English and Work Experience Course combines English lessons with a work placement allowing students to study and practise their English skills in a real working environment (20 hours). This course is not only an excellent initiation into the business world but will also provide students with invaluable work experience that will enhance their CV and future career prospects. Students combine English lessons with Work Experience sessions for a minimum period of 6 weeks. Work Experience programmes are tailored to students’ individual requirements in their field of specialisation according to their level of English. The Course is flexible - students may opt to take a General English, One-to-One or Business English Course or a combination of our most suitable courses as advised by our Director of Studies. We aim to place students in a suitable work placement before their arrival in Malta. Positions will be found in the required field according to the student’s qualifications, work experience, level of English, age and length of stay. Following a student’s enrolment in our course, he/she will be interviewed by the school or a company representative. After being placed in a suitable position, students will receive a list of their prospective duties in their place of work before their arrival in Malta. All work experience is unpaid. Students who wish to undertake an internship with no English course may avail of our Internship Placement Service. Following applications, we will place students with the most suitable company that matches your requirements.

The General English Course at ELC Eastbourne is designed to give you the confidence to communicate effectively in real-life situations. The course provides effective English language training for people who need English for work, further study,travel/tourism or for your own pleasure. In addition, it can help provide preparation for a number of exams including IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, KET and PET. There is a balanced programme, focusing on the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, whilst covering essential grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, idioms and colloquial language.

Studying a General English language course in ACET will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from a beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading, and writing. This course is held in the afternoons.

Our General English language courses help students improve all their skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) and learn the grammar, vocabulary and cultural knowledge necessary for living in the UK and using English in an international context. We focus on practical, effective and natural communication and you will get at least five pieces of new language in each 45-minute class.

The LSI Intensive 30 course concentrates on all the areas that you need to achieve a much greater fluency in a short period of time. This course is suitable for students who wish to study intensively and get a well rounded insight into the language and country. Students on the LSI Intensive 30 course study the same lessons as described for General 20 in the morning. During the afternoon there are a range of electives to suit all levels, needs and interests.

This intensive General English language course is made up of 30 lessons per week/22.5 hours per week that combine language learning with a special focus on developing critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. This is best for students who want to study full-time i.e. Monday – Friday (Morning & Afternoon classes)
