Southern Lakes English College provides a fun, motivating, communicative approach to English learning. Our General English courses ensure that students make excellent progress in all areas of English, with a special focus on speaking and listening skills. ​

Our Semi-Intensive English course is a semi-intensive programme that allows you to balance classroom tuition with structured study and free time activities. You will improve your English language ability at a speed you feel comfortable with, while having time to enjoy your destination. This course is available at all levels from Elementary to Advanced and you will be placed in a class which is suitable for your level. The course focuses on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. You’ll also learn vocabulary and grammar, and how to speak in formal and informal discussions and strategies.

Learn how to use English Language effectively in everyday situations. Improve your skills in speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary and grammar. At higher levels we aim to foster skills that will allow you to work in an English speaking environment with confidence in your language ability. Our qualified and experienced teachers ensure that you can master the whole language by improving your ability to use English grammar. They will even make your pronunciation sound more natural and easier to understand. We provide you with a flexible, goal orientated classes to ensure that progress can be made to any schedule. Develop confidence, increase word power and improve pronunciation. This Communication Englisg course is designed to help you communicate effectively and with ease in a wide range of situations from social settings to debates and presentations. FOC combines the morning oral communication periods (Periods 2, 3 and 4) with select afternoon workshops designed especially for FOC students, such as Power Speaking and Debating. You can change your workshop topic weekly allowing you to better customize your studies to your individual needs. In addition to class work, this course includes one free Chat Buddy session (3 to 5 hours per week) per month. Your Canadian Chat Buddy will help you to practice your conversational skills outside of the classroom and become familiar with Canadian life through a variety of social activities.

Studying a General English course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing.

This General English language course is made up of 30 lessons (22.5 hours) per week including the General English classes. It also allows you to personalise your course by taking 10 lessons per week across a wide selection of Special Focus options.

CLLC’s Intensive Program gives students a great foundational focus to their English Language education by studying 25 hours per week (33 lessons/week). Students can choose two classes from the primary class options, Reading & Writing, Listening & Speaking, and IELTS Preparation or Business English.

In BLI Montreal enhance your knowledge of specific french language skills through project development and task-based learning. With this General French language course, you will practice your writing skills, develop your listening abilities, and improve your reading competencies. *General FSL *Communication workshop *Specialized French *Power skills

This English language course prepares students with the skills and strategies they need to make the transition to college and university courses in the English language and other secondary school disciplines. Students are encouraged to develop independence in a range of academic tasks. They will participate in seminars, lead classroom workshops; read and interpret a range of academic texts; take effective notes during lectures and class discussions; write essays, narratives, and reports; and apply a range of learning strategies and research skills effectively.
